Website Working Again
By Tasha Turner
After 2 weeks we finally have everything back up. A few of the review posts still need videos, pictures, and additional links added. We decided to make them live again anyways and hope our readers will forgive us for the missing parts as we hunt desperately for find everything. The important parts of the review are there – why we liked the books (grin).
Wow did I learn a lot. Thanks to Stephanie Brown Meyers (whose book Dark Revelations you must check out) who reminded me that Google caches lots of stuff. So since I had foolishly NOT backed up my work I was able to not only find it all again but find out the correct links and the dates they were posted on. Those additional details were extremely important to have any links to our pages continue to work and to have the posts show up in the correct order.
I also remembered NOT to add the networked blog widget back on so that Facebook pages would not be flooded with repeat posts. What a pleasure it was this afternoon to add that widget back in. As long as I was making changes to the website I’ve made some cosmetic changes also. I hope you like them and that they don’t slow down the load time to much.
Yes I now have a backup plan, backup software, and check things as I’m feeling fairly paranoid at the moment. I am so happy to know that next week I can get back to working with my clients without having my website hanging over my head at all times.
All my brilliant (or so I’m told) post are back up. Below are links to a few of the posts I am most proud of and would love people to visit, leave comments, and share.
Kristen Lamb & Indiegogo – What Kristen Lamb has to say about this post: Really beautiful story by Tasha Turner and a real testament to WANA ways. Also a wonderful fund-raiser. I really hope you will check it out.
blog schedule: What happened during the weeks following my being hit by an 18-wheel truck and how I did everything wrong & how you should handle your blog schedule if you have an emergency
How to Appear Intelligent on the Internet – this is something that I and friends have been refining for some 8-10 years now and has been used as suggestions as well as forum rules I really hope people will comment and share their thoughts on it.
Building Online Relationships – How to build online relationships is aimed at authors but other kinds of artists could apply the advice in it
So thank you for taking the time to visit my working again website and checking out some of my posts. The blog has only been up since March 2nd. Again thanks for stopping by and checking us out.
